In this workshop, we'll piece throw-sized log cabin quilt tops from upcycled materials. Yes, you can piece a quilt top in a day! I'll provide everything: lots of fabrics, batting, thread, needles, sewing machines, safety pins, scissors, cutting mats, etc.). This class is for all levels—never used a sewing machine before? You'll learn! Never quilted before? This is a perfect first project! In the afternoon, I'll demonstrate how to assemble and quilt your quilt using several methods: hand quilting, machine quilting, and tying. I'll provide batting for everyone so you'll have everything you need to finish your quilt at home.
Materials Required: Pencils and notebook. Optional supplies that would help me a lot: Sewing machine, iron, sharp fabric scissors, rotary cutter, cutting mat, safety pins. I will have all these things, but if students have them it would be great for them to bring them. Students can also bring any fabrics they'd like to incorporate into their quilts.
