Cyanotyping is a process that utilizes primarily UV light and Prussian Blue Dye. Fine details of objects are captured using this process resulting in beautifully accurate prints. Originally used to produce architectural blueprints, this process can be utilized to produce one-of-kind printed fabrics. In this class we will learn how to mix, apply, embellish, and set our fabric prints. Additional topics to be covered include manipulating the color away from the traditional blue on white, reviving the color should it fade, and over dyeing with natural dyes for beautiful color combinations.
Materials Required: Flat objects (flowers, keys, leaves, etc) and wear old clothes
